Re: [Harp-L] Re: astatic elements

Hi,
Just to give some clarity of about the different cartridge numbers:

When buying the mics themselves:
JT30 came stock with a crystal cartridge and a desk stand (when buying the pre-1984 ones with the screw on connectors); JT30F is the same thing WITH a desk stand; JT-30C has the ceramic element with a desk stand; and JT30CF is the same thing with ceramic element but no desk stand.

For just the elements alone:
MC-101 --- crystal element with NO midrange presence rise
MC-151 --- crystal element WITH a midrange presence rise (the one most prized of crystals)
MC-126 --- ceramic element with NO midrange presence rise
MC-127 --- ceeramic element WITH a midrange presence rise (most desired of the ceramics)

The output of crystals has always varied with some being OK hot and some being far too hot. Ceramics are more consistent tho I've found a few ceramics over the years that were hotter than some crystals.

My JT-30 uses a ceramic element, always has. I've had no problems with it.
